How to Feed Your Dog or Cat Naturally

Suggested Change of Diet for Feeding Dogs and Cats Naturally

I recommend feeding your dog or cat naturally as a healthy alternative to most commercial pet foods high in unhealthy by-products and preservatives. However, I suggest you get the name of a good dry dog or cat food, for convenience sake. This is so that you can use it when you are too busy to feed a raw diet or when you are traveling with your pet.

We suggest adding more organic raw meats to your pet’s diet, and/or fresh road kill/fresh wild meat as often as you can. If you know any hunters get the organ meats, bones, raw meat, etc. Separate them into small pieces and freeze them in zip lock bags. You can pull these out when needed and give them to your pet. Think of your pet as an extremely valuable part of the wildlife exhibit at a local zoo who needs its natural diet and habitat to keep healthy.

For instance, animals in the wild first eat the half digested contents of their prey’s intestines. Since most of their prey are herbivores (mice, deer, rats, etc) they eat the partially digested grasses, herbs, seeds, grains, and other organs near the intestines. The animals usually come back later for the rest, unless of course another animal has gotten to it already.

To replace this natural feeding pattern, I recommend that you use cooked brown rice as a base, add raw parsley, cilantro, shaved carrot, raw natural, organic, plain yogurt, raw meats or lightly steamed meats (until your cat or dog is used to the raw meats) and lightly steamed vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, etc. (Do NOT add potatoes or tomatoes). Finally, add flax seed oil (1 tspn daily for cats and small dogs, 1 TBS large for large dogs.
